I have been an orchestral musician since 1991. I initially played as a substitute horn player at the Nuremberg Opera House for two years, before moving to the Munich Philharmonic as deputy principal horn player. Sergiu Celibidache was the orchestra's conductor at the time and opened up unimaginable musical dimensions for me. I am still very grateful today that I was able to witness the last three years of his life.
I have always tried to play an active role in shaping the future of the orchestra, which is why I was a member of the orchestra's board, the staff council, and the “Spielfeld Klassik” team, the Philharmonic's education program. In addition, I am the initiator of various projects, as well as the cooperation with the Music Association of Upper and Lower Bavaria (MON).
As part of this collaboration, I have been teaching for many years as a lecturer at the “advanced” wind academy. There I developed my teaching system based on martial arts.
In April 2018, my book “Neue Wege im Instrumentalunterricht” (New Approaches to Instrumental Teaching) was published. I had already been active as an author, contributing to magazines such as Clarino, Das Orchester, and VAN-Magazin, as well as writing a monthly column in the association magazine Bayerische Blasmusik, which was renamed Blasmusik in Bayern in January 2020.
I am particularly passionate about my work with the Orchester des Wandels e.V. association, where I have been a member of the board since 2021. I find the intensive work on climate, environmental, and species protection and the collaboration with the musicians of the member orchestras, scientists, and experts extremely enriching.
