MUSIC AND MARTIAL ARTS

I have been practicing the Korean martial art of taekwondo since 2003.

Initially, I viewed it purely as a sport, but now the philosophical aspect has come to the fore.

Learning takes place on a subconscious level, resulting from repetition and the insights that arise from it. Explanations are only given as a supplement. The essential thing is to understand through one's own experience.

The impulses from martial arts have also influenced my life as a professional musician.

Not only has my attitude toward my instrument changed, but also my approach to music itself.

Based on this experience, I cannot help but question certain structures, especially with regard to the teaching and examination systems in classical music.

You never create change by fighting the existing order;

to change something, build new models that make the old obsolete.
